The Denman Island Local Trust Committee endorses a project charter for Riparian Areas Regulation compliance, directs staff to provide a draft Development Approval Information Bylaw and refers proposed Official Community Plan and Land Use Bylaw amendments to the Advisory Planning Commission. 1
The committee also directs staff to report back on the work of the Northern Riparian Areas Regulation Working Group, with recommendations for communications for Denman Island. 1
Planner Courtney Simpson says she will amend the draft as discussed and advance the referral of the amendments to the Advisory Planning Commission. 1
The committee discusses possible reduced application fees where development permit applications and Qualified Environmental Professional reports required under the Riparian Areas Regulation duplicate work. It suggests that fees or development permit requirements might be reviewed after the process has been evaluated for some time. 1
The committee also asks staff to update the Projects List to correct a formatting problem in the Land Use Bylaw definition of Agriculture. Bylaw Enforcement Manager Miles Drew says staff interpret dog breeding as not permitted on Denman Island other than on one specific property that is a spot zone. 1

2. Direct staff to provide a draft Development Approval Information Bylaw;
3. Refer the draft Official Community Plan and Land Use Bylaw
amendments to Development Permit Area No. 4 to the Advisory
Planning Commission, with the staff report dated July 4, 2012; and
4. Direct staff to report back on the work of the Northern Riparian Areas
