The Denman Island Local Trust Committee asks staff to prepare revised Bylaws 219 and 220 showing the transfer of one density to the Denman Island Density Bank and one density from the donor property to the receiving property. Staff are also asked to return with a report addressing density questions, the proposal’s intent, community concerns, mapping, a setback issue and possible separate bylaw and Official Community Plan amendments.1
Trustees support an Islands Trust-sponsored community information meeting and a second public hearing on the two bylaws. The committee’s March 15 meeting had recessed for a public hearing on the bylaws earlier that day.1
The committee also supports an application to exclude land from the Agricultural Land Reserve for eight units of affordable housing for Denman Island residents over 65 years of age. Staff are directed to forward the application to the Agricultural Land Commission with the committee’s resolution of support and specified comments.1
The committee directs staff to prepare a project charter prioritizing implementation of Recommendations 13 and 14, along with parts of Recommendation 11, in the Denman Island Farm Plan. The charter is to outline a related public consultation process.1
