Correction, September 10, 2026. The original introduction called assessed parcels with improvement value “residences” and described a modeled tax total as what the island contributes. Those descriptions were too strong. An improved parcel need not contain a home, and may contain more than one; applying assumed tax rates is not an account of taxes actually paid.

The Denman by the Numbers page shows the current analysis population, recorded zones and ALR flags, assessment values and mapped building footprints. Its denominators and exclusions matter: raw spatial records are not a verified count of homes or eligible building sites.

Tax figures are scenarios using stated rates and assumptions. The farm-pattern comparison uses matched assessed and modeled values at a fixed residential rate; it does not calculate revenue lost or another owner's bill. Read the model methodology and the farm-comparison limitations alongside the figures.
