## Trustee election

Official winners declared. Sam Borthwick: 453 votes (declared elected); Noah Ross: 384 votes (declared elected); Steve Hawkins: 313 votes; Perri Gorrara: 57 votes. The Comox Valley Regional District labels these results official and marks the two winners elected. The Trust summary still labels its table preliminary.[1][2]

## Housing bylaws: referral still needs confirmation

Denman Bylaws 260 and 264 are absent from the October 14 Executive Committee approval agenda. That agenda lists Saturna 146/147 and Salt Spring 553. Absence from an agenda does not establish whether the Secretary received a referral or whether any statutory approval period has begun. The September 15 local decision minutes were not found in the refreshed document index.[3][4]

## Other local votes

The CVRD reports Daniel Arbour acclaimed as Electoral Area A director and Chelsea McCannel-Keene acclaimed as School District 71 Trustee Electoral Area 4 (Area A) trustee. Its official animal-control referendum count is 853 yes and 348 no. The question sought assent to Bylaw 915, which would add animal-control services to the Denman and Hornby bylaw-enforcement service. Voter assent is a separate step from the board adopting the bylaw.[5]

## The new term

The Trust says trustees will be sworn into office on November 12, followed by Council meetings on November 13 and 14. Current officeholders remain in office until the new term. The Council meeting will include elections for the Executive Committee and Conservancy Board positions.[6]

This is a dated public-record check, covering the local trust area and its associated islands. A preliminary count is not an official declaration; readings, approval and adoption are separate steps. Candidate vote totals are not a count of voters. Regional-district and school electoral boundaries differ from Trust-area boundaries; other offices are identified separately. This check is not a full re-audit of every bylaw.
