Denman trustees advance new agriculture advisory commission

The Local Trust Committee adds an Agriculture Advisory Planning Commission to draft Bylaw 203 and gives the bylaw three readings.

The Denman Island Local Trust Committee gives first, second and third readings to proposed Bylaw No. 203, which includes an Agriculture Advisory Planning Commission, and refers it to the Executive Committee. ^[1]

The commission is to consist of up to six members. The committee may appoint up to three members in even numbered years and up to three in odd numbered years, with two-year terms. ^[1]

The committee defeats a proposal to appoint up to six members for up to two years in a single resolution. Trustee Graham votes in favour; Trustee Busheikin and Chair Luckham vote against. ^[1]

The committee also adopts Bylaw No. 202, an amendment to the Denman Island Official Community Plan Bylaw, 2008. ^[1]

The committee asks the Bylaw Enforcement Coordinator to draft a report presenting an enforcement policy and to work with staff to schedule a Community Information Meeting about the proposed Bylaw Enforcement Notification Bylaw. ^[1]
