The Denman Island Local Trust Committee plans to forward a Development Approval Information Bylaw for Trust Council’s consideration at its regularly scheduled March 2013 meeting. The proposed bylaw concerns information on the anticipated impacts of development permit, temporary use permit and zoning amendment applications.[1]

The committee also requested that staff revise draft Development Approval Information Bylaw No. 149 by adding a preamble setting out its intention.[1]

The draft bylaw is to go to the Advisory Planning Commission after the committee reviews and considers the revised document. Trustee Laura Busheikin said the bylaw could provide clarity, transparency and efficiencies, and asked whether a preamble could state that it replaces an existing bylaw and adds no additional requirements.[1]

The committee also added a review and update of Denman Island Development Procedure Bylaw No. 71 to its projects list.[1]
