The Denman Island Local Trust Committee asks staff to prepare a proposal for two community meetings about housing needs strategies, including proposals for format and communications. Possible dates are suggested and will be confirmed as plans progress.[1]
Trustees discuss holding one meeting on housing needs, fears and possible changes to housing regulations, followed by a meeting on possible solutions, findings from other islands, possible mitigations, public suggestions and dispelling myths.[1]
The committee supports adding Density Cap to the project’s scope and removing Density Bank, Density Transfer and Multi-Unit Projects from it. Trustees also discuss an expanded definition of dwelling unit and including travel trailer regulations within that definition.[1]
After the second meeting, the committee may refer the matter to the Advisory Planning Commission or request a staff report with recommendations.[1]
The committee also commits up to $1,000 from the 2013-2014 Denman Local Trust Committee budget for eelgrass mapping.[1]
