The draft rules would return to the Denman Island Advisory Planning Commission for review after trustees requested revisions to the housing regulations amendments; the committee also asked the commission to provide advice by February 21, 2014.[1]

Trustees discussed proposed changes including floor-area limits for secondary dwelling units and the distance between a secondary dwelling and a principal residence. The minutes record differing views on a proposed 600-square-foot limit and a suggestion to reduce the separation distance from 100 metres to 60 metres.[1]

Planner Rob Milne said he would redraft the bylaws to incorporate the comments and send them to the commission. The committee endorsed version 1.3 of the project charter for the housing policy review.[1]

The committee also instructed staff to discontinue on-island planner office hours for Denman Island.[1]
