Denman trustees schedule March public hearing on Bylaws 219 and 220

The hearing is scheduled before the Local Trust Committee’s regular meeting on March 15, 2016, with a draft restrictive covenant available for public review.

The Denman Island Local Trust Committee schedules a public hearing for Bylaw Nos. 219 and 220 before its regular meeting on March 15, 2016. Copies of the draft restrictive covenant for the “receiving” property are to be available for public review. ^[1]

Planner Rob Milne says the required restrictive covenant is ready for review shortly, after legal review and development of language reached consensus. ^[1]

The committee also requests staff to examine the frequency and nature of special-events bylaws on other Gulf Islands. The motion carries. ^[1]

The committee receives a presentation from the Denman Community Land Trust Association about its request for exclusion from the Agricultural Land Reserve to build eight units of affordable housing for Denman Island seniors. Milne says the committee will likely have an opportunity to comment on the application at its next meeting. ^[1]

The next regular meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at 10:30 am at the Denman Seniors Centre. ^[1]
