Denman trustees advance fees bylaw for Islands Trust approval

The Local Trust Committee gives three readings to Bylaw No. 221 and forwards it to the Islands Trust Executive Committee.

The Denman Island Local Trust Committee gives three readings to Bylaw No. 221, an amendment concerning fees, and forwards it to the Secretary of the Islands Trust for approval by the Executive Committee.^[1]

Regional Planning Manager Ann Kjerulf says the staff report addresses harmonization of fees in companion applications for Siting and Use Permits and Temporary Use Permits, and recommends reviewing current fees to determine whether they are appropriate or need updating.^[1]

Trustees request that planners recommend applicants complete both applications concurrently where applicable, and that future applications be presented at the same Local Trust Committee agenda.^[1]

The committee also requests that the Financial Planning Committee investigate automatic application fee increases based on the Consumer Price Index or a similar measure on a Trust-wide basis.^[1]

The committee reviews and endorses a tentative 2017 meeting schedule, with regular business meetings set for January 31, March 7, May 2, June 6, August 1, October 3 and November 14.^[1]
