The Denman Island Local Trust Committee adds land-use bylaw amendments and enforcement policies regarding travel trailers to its Projects List, while staff work on options for regulating their use. [1]

The committee also adds to its “Housekeeping” list an amendment defining “occasional” use of an accessory building as a cumulative use of not more than 45 days per year, regardless of who is staying there. [1]

The committee discusses removing provisions for guests’ use of travel trailers from the Land Use Bylaw and establishing an enforcement policy that prevents enforcement when guests stay in trailers for short periods. A trustee also says changing the definition of “occasional” to include cumulative time might be effective and preferable. [1]

The motion to add the travel-trailer amendments and enforcement policies passes, with Trustee Busheikin opposed. The motion adding the proposed definition change to the Housekeeping list passes. [1]

The committee also defers discussion of Marine Issues—Bylaw 207 pending additional information. [1]
