The Denman Community Land Trust Association asked the Local Trust Committee on October 3 to consider an “affordable housing first” policy for applications and to ask staff to process multiple functions in parallel to streamline affordable housing projects.[1]
Speaking for the association, Harlene Holm cited possible time lags and delays and said the community needed to see progress to maintain engagement. She emphasized the urgency for low-income seniors needing affordable housing.[1]
Trustees and staff discussed possible next steps, including investigating whether Trust Council’s Local Planning Committee was considering the issue trust-wide. The minutes say a standing resolution might be considered at the next committee meeting; they do not record adoption of the requested policy.[1]
