The Denman Community Land Trust Association asked the Local Trust Committee on October 3 to consider an “affordable housing first” policy for applications and to ask staff to process multiple functions in parallel where possible.[1]
Harlene Holm, speaking for the association, cited examples of time lags and delays and said community engagement depended on seeing progress. She emphasized the urgency of affordable housing for low-income seniors.[1]
The committee discussed possible next steps, including a standing resolution at its next meeting and adding the policy request to its follow-up list. The minutes say staff was asked to investigate whether the Trust Council’s Local Planning Committee might address the issue across the trust area.[1]
