A Grapevine feature on solar power describes Denman residents using grid-tied solar systems to reduce their electricity costs.[1]
David Scruton told the paper he installed 34 solar panels and connected to the grid in April 2016. He said the system generated 8.7 megawatts up to mid-October in 2017, and estimated that he had cut his heating bill in half.[1]
John Isbister told the paper he had invested about $8,000 in a 14-panel grid-tied array and estimated that he had saved 50 percent on energy costs.[1]
