The proposed Denman Community Land Trust Association seniors’ affordable housing project remained under review after the Local Trust Committee discussed a draft water-assessment terms of reference at its February 6 meeting.[1]

The committee’s minutes say the draft terms of reference called for information to help protect groundwater resources, including a pumping test. The applicant said much information was already available, raised concern about a 72-hour test and asked for more consultation; the applicant’s environmental consultant described the requirements as onerous.[1]

The association also asked the committee to reconsider classifying the project as “Non-Domestic” in the draft terms of reference, saying that classification could add cost and time. It submitted a development variance permit application seeking to vary proof-of-water and sewage-disposal requirements for a lot-line adjustment, and asked that it be considered at the March meeting.[1]

The minutes record discussion of the draft terms of reference but do not record a decision on the variance application.[1]
