Speakers at the June 26 Denman Island Local Trust Committee meeting objected to aspects of the Denman Farm Plan Implementation project, including proposals concerning agriculture and cannabis.[1]

Doug Wright, speaking for the Growers and Producers of Denman and Hornby Islands, said the group did not support removing agriculture and horticulture as permitted uses on R1 and R2 properties.[1]

Another member of the public opposed eliminating agriculture as a permitted use on small lots and opposed considering cannabis issues in the farm-plan project, while supporting more community consultation on potential cannabis regulations.[1]
