A disagreement over Denman’s Farm Plan Implementation project surfaced at the June 26 Local Trust Committee meeting, where the Growers and Producers of Denman and Hornby Islands said it did not support removing agriculture and horticulture as permitted uses on R1 and R2 properties.[1]
The committee minutes also record a member of the public opposing the elimination of agriculture as a permitted use on small lots and opposing consideration of cannabis issues in the project, while supporting more community consultation on potential cannabis regulations.[1]
The minutes describe these as comments made at the meeting; they do not record a decision on those proposed policies.[1]
