The Denman Island Readers and Writers Festival opens Friday at 9:30 a.m. with storyteller Wedlidi Speck, followed by novelist Marina Endicott at 10 a.m. and Emily St. John Mandel at 11:15 a.m., according to the festival preview in this week’s Grapevine.[1]
The afternoon program includes readings by Des Kennedy and Yasuko Thanh, and an illustrated talk by Sarah Dunant. The preview says the festival has 11 invited authors and sessions featuring local writers.[1]
The festival continues through the weekend, with local writers scheduled to read on Saturday and Sunday.[1]
