At the June 26 Local Trust Committee meeting, Doug Wright, speaking for the Growers and Producers of Denman and Hornby Islands, said the group opposed removing agriculture and horticulture as permitted uses on R1 and R2 properties.[1]
A member of the public also opposed eliminating agriculture as a permitted use on small lots and called for more community consultation on potential cannabis regulations, according to the minutes.[1]
The meeting record describes these comments as preliminary responses to the Denman Farm Plan Implementation project referral; it does not record a final decision on those proposed policies.[1]
