At a June 26 Local Trust Committee meeting, Doug Wright, speaking for the Growers and Producers of Denman and Hornby Islands, said the group did not support removing agriculture and horticulture as permitted uses on R1 and R2 properties.[1]

A member of the public also opposed eliminating agriculture as a permitted use on small lots and opposed considering cannabis issues in the farm-plan project, while supporting more community consultation on potential cannabis regulations.[1]

The committee minutes record the speakers’ positions; they do not record a decision on those farm-plan proposals at that meeting.[1]
