The Denman Island Local Trust Committee approved a development permit for work on the existing trail and boardwalk at Morning Beach Park, according to its August 7 minutes.[1]

The Comox Valley Regional District Parks Department application covered work intended to improve public safety and reduce potential erosion, the minutes say.[1]

Trustees raised concerns that warning signs at the site were being disregarded and disappearing. They asked the regional district to consider improving the signs to better indicate risks and discourage unauthorized trail use.[1]

The committee also determined that a survey plan was not reasonably necessary for the proposed realignment of stairs and tree work.[1]
