The Denman Island Local Trust Committee approved a development permit for work on the existing trail and boardwalk at Morning Beach Park, according to its Aug. 7 minutes.[1]
The minutes say the Comox Valley Regional District Parks Department proposed work to improve public safety and reduce potential erosion. Trustees also expressed concern that warning signs at the site were being disregarded and disappearing, and asked the regional district to consider improving the signage.[1]
The committee’s motion also determined that a survey plan was not reasonably necessary for the permit application concerning the re-alignment of stairs and tree work.[1]
