A disagreement over proposed farming rules and cannabis regulation appears in the records of a Denman Island Local Trust Committee meeting and a community letter printed in this week’s Grapevine. ^[1]

At the committee’s August 2 community information meeting, members of the public raised concerns about including cannabis production in the definition of “intensive agriculture” and suggested addressing cannabis separately. ^[2]

In a letter listed in the Grapevine contents as “Denman Green Answers the Questions,” Anthony Gregson wrote about the subject. The newsletter’s contents do not provide the letter’s text, and the minutes included here do not record what Gregson wrote. ^[1][2]

The August 2 minutes say the meeting was held to gather community comments on proposed bylaw amendments and that community input was being sought. ^[2]
