Denman Island Fire Rescue says more than 600 breakfasts were served at its 42nd Annual Pancake Breakfast, where the weather was perfect and the community turned out “en masse.”[1]
The event included vegan pancakes, a firewood raffle and an ambulance display, the note says. Sparky the Fire Dog also attended before heading to Courtenay for the Canada Day Parade.[1]
The department thanked volunteers and donors, including the Denman Island General Store, and said it wishes everyone a wonderful summer.[1]
