A Denman resident is collecting plastic from the cable ferry at the Saturday market and documenting where pieces are found on beaches, a newsletter report says.[1]

The report says the plastic is often found where seaweed washes up and that the collector is sharing the location information with BC Ferries.[1]

It says BC Ferries has accepted the collected plastic but has not commented on its cleanup efforts or a design change.[1]
