Seventeen teens from across Western Canada screened films they made at the EcoDfndrs youth video camp to about 100 people at the Denman Island Community Hall on August 17, the Grapevine reported.[1]

The article says the free camp was held at Elkhaven on Denman for a third year and gave students aged 12 to 15 the opportunity to work with film-industry professionals on environmental messages. Tony Aly, who publishes this paper, is involved with Camp Denman, also known as Elkhaven and Elk Haven, and has a personal interest in land-use and bylaw-enforcement matters affecting that site.[1]

One film, “The Denman Dilemma,” addressed the cable ferry plastic-shedding issue through acted scenes and interviews, including one with a BC Ferries communications manager and others with local environmental advocates.[1]
