The Hornby and Denman Community Health Care Society is marking 40 years, and an exhibition curated by Megan Davies of York University is in development to showcase the society’s rural health-care support model.[1]

The Grapevine report says the society provides home-support services on both islands and that its executive director, Lori Nawrot, described it as one of the few grassroots home-support health-care services to have survived for so long.[1]

The report says the society holds monthly sessions where health-care providers, including doctors, public health nurses and paramedics, share news and discuss issues.[1]

The Grapevine’s events calendar lists the society’s 40th-celebration annual general meeting for Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Denman Activity Centre.[1]
