A late-morning fire on Tuesday, October 8, destroyed the former Kaleidoscope Market building in downtown Denman, according to the newsletter’s report. [1]

The report said propane tanks were inside and early onlookers were told to keep well away. Businesses, residents, Denman Community School, Denman Activity Centre and the Community Hall were ordered to evacuate, and downtown was closed to traffic. [1]

Fire crews and equipment were called in from other locations. The blaze engulfed the building in little over an hour without igniting nearby trees, the report said. [1]

Klaus and Thamm thanked the Denman Fire Department for its fire-containment work on their property on Tuesday. [1]
