The Denman Island Local Trust Committee gives first reading to proposed bylaws for the Denman Housing Association’s application, and requests an early referral to the Islands Trust Executive Committee regarding policy consistency. ^[1]

The committee also refers the proposed bylaws to First Nations, local governments and agencies for comment. ^[1]

The application includes a proposed backup water supply for Denman Green. The Comox Valley Regional District bulk water delivery option is uncertain, while an off-island bulk water supply has been investigated as a more economic option. ^[1]

The committee discusses compliance with the BC Energy Step Code, affordability measures through a Housing Agreement or Restrictive Covenant, parking, a common laundry facility with studio apartments above, and an amendment to exempt cisterns from maximum floor area calculations. ^[1]

Trustee Busheikin declares a potential conflict of interest because she lives next to the site of the proposed project and leaves the meeting at 1:09 pm. She returns at 2:05 pm. ^[1]
