The Denman Island Local Trust Committee gave first readings on Nov. 7 to proposed amendments to the Official Community Plan and Land Use Bylaw for the Denman Housing Association project, Denman Green. [1]

The committee’s minutes say the association had provided new information that could change staff recommendations. The backup water supply, initially intended to come from a Comox Valley Regional District bulk-water delivery system on Denman, was uncertain; an off-island bulk-water option had been investigated. [1]

The minutes record discussion of affordability measures, compliance with the BC Energy Step Code, parking, a proposed common laundry facility and an amendment to exempt cisterns from maximum floor-area calculations. [1]

The committee referred the proposed bylaws to First Nations, local governments and agencies for comment. [1]
