The Denman Island Local Trust Committee gave first reading to proposed amendments to the Official Community Plan and Land Use Bylaw for the Denman Housing Association’s application on Nov. 7.[1]

The minutes say the association’s backup water supply plan had changed: an off-island bulk water supply had been investigated after the proposed Comox Valley Regional District delivery system became uncertain. The association asked the committee to exempt the application from a Trust Council policy.[1]

The committee referred the proposed bylaws to First Nations, local governments and agencies for comment, including Island Health, the Agricultural Land Commission and the Comox Valley Regional District.[1]

The minutes also record discussion of affordability measures, parking, a proposed common laundry facility and an amendment to exempt cisterns from maximum floor-area calculations.[1]
