The Denman Island Local Trust Committee gave first readings to proposed amendments to the Official Community Plan and Land Use Bylaw for the Denman Housing Association application at its November 7 meeting.[1]
The minutes say the association had provided new information about a backup water supply for Denman Green. The planned rainwater system’s backup had been intended to use a Comox Valley Regional District bulk-water delivery system on Denman, but that option was uncertain; off-island bulk water had also been investigated.[1]
The committee voted to refer the proposed bylaws to First Nations, local governments and agencies for comment. The minutes record the first readings and referral, not a final decision on the application.[1]
