Back issue. The Denman Firestarter did not exist on 2019-12-12. This edition was compiled on 2026-10-01 from the public record as it stood on 2019-12-12, and contains nothing dated after that day — no outcomes, no hindsight. It is a reconstruction of what was on the record at the time, not a document from the time. This edition.

A letter signed by Edi Johnston in this week’s Grapevine asks the Denman Community Health Centre Society board to hold a public meeting about changes to the island’s medical clinic. [1]

Johnston wrote that residents had questions about how the decision was made, including why there was no public consultation and whether the existing contract could be extended while replacements were sought. [1]

The same issue carries a notice from the Ginger Goodwin Medical Clinic team saying it will provide services at Denman Medical Clinic starting January 2, with weekday service and the existing telephone number. [1]

The letter says statements supplied by the society did not answer the questions and asks the board to call a meeting. [1]
