The Denman Island Local Trust Committee requested an early referral to the Islands Trust Freshwater Specialist concerning the Denman Community Land Trust Association’s rezoning application, according to the committee’s November minutes. [1]

The minutes say staff had met with the association to discuss issues and ways forward, and would propose minor amendments to draft bylaws. They also record that comments from the freshwater specialist about terms of reference for the water licence were considered important to moving the application forward. [1]

The committee also recorded that the Denman Housing Association’s proposed backup water supply for Denman Green had become uncertain; off-island bulk water supply had been investigated as a more economical option. [1]
