More than 250 people attended the first annual Community Nativity Pageant at the Denman Island Community Hall on December 22, according to a report by Trish Weatherall in The Islands Grapevine. [1]

The report described the production as a community effort, with volunteers and local creative contributions. Pageant writer and director Hilary Pryor said the response was positive and that some people had to be turned away. [1]

Admission was by donation. The report said the event raised over $1000 to cover production costs and give to the community food bank. [1]
