A letter signed “C. Urquhart” in the Jan. 30 Islands Grapevine urged residents to support Denman Green, saying the writer had compiled a list of more than 50 people, including children, in need of housing. [1]
The letter said the writer had acted as a liaison between the Denman Green board and potential renters for two years and had seen the board working to meet requirements from Islands Trust and BC Housing. [1]
At the Jan. 21 Local Trust Committee meeting, residents expressed both support and opposition to the proposal, according to the adopted minutes. [2]
The minutes record concerns about the project’s water supply, consultation, location, infrastructure costs and potential fire risk, alongside calls for the project to proceed without delay. [2]
