Residents expressed contrasting views on Denman’s proposed affordable-housing projects at the January 21 Local Trust Committee meeting, according to the adopted minutes.[1]

On the Denman Community Land Trust Association’s Seniors Affordable Housing project, comments included support for site-specific zoning and objections to including it in a proposed R4 zone; speakers also urged that the project not be delayed.[1]

Comments on Denman Housing Association’s Denman Green raised concerns about water supply, consultation, location, infrastructure and fire risk. The minutes also record support for considering the application and say a referral to the Advisory Planning Commission would add community input.[1]

The minutes record these as comments from members of the public, not as findings about the projects.[1]

The community supports the initiative, it is needed, and it should not be delayed by adding anything to it.
