Denman services are changing how they operate as the COVID-19 response affects daily life on the island. The General Store is taking grocery orders by phone or email and says volunteers can deliver to people who cannot get to the store; shoppers are asked to keep six feet apart.[1]

The Post Office asks customers to step back from the counter and pick up parcels promptly. It says it is open weekdays from 9 am to noon and 1 pm to 4:30 pm, and Saturdays from noon to 3 pm.[1]

Denman Hardware says it has moved to contactless service and reduced its hours to 9 am–1 pm. The Craft Shop says it is closing for now.[1]

The Grapevine reports that the Activity Centre is closed until further notice, and that the Denman Seniors and Museum Society cancelled its Easter barbecue and the Grapevine staff cancelled the children’s Easter egg hunt. Seniors’ lunches are also cancelled until further notice.[1]

Waste collection is continuing on its published schedule, but cash attached to a bag will no longer be accepted; tickets must be used. Several recycling and reuse facilities are closed until further notice.[1]
