Organizers have cancelled the 2020 Denman Island Readers and Writers Festival, citing public-health warnings and uncertainty about when restrictions might be lifted.[1]
They wrote that they were disappointed after spending volunteer hours arranging authors, billets, meals, volunteers and fundraising for the event.[1]
The organizers are considering a virtual mini-festival with short video presentations and an online Writing Week workshop, but said it was too early to be certain those options could be offered.[1]
The notice also says DD Fuchs is stepping down after eight years of volunteer service.[1]
