The 2020 Denman Birdathon is scheduled to begin at 4 pm on May 22 and run for 24 hours, with participants identifying birds on their own or with a family team.[1]
Organizers say participants can seek pledges based on the number of species they identify, or take part and make a donation of their choice.[1]
The event is being organized as a Denman-Hornby birding challenge, with the trophy going to the island that identifies the most birds; the newsletter says last year 93 species were found on Denman.[1]
The newsletter says participants will identify birds on the honour system, and that hearing a bird counts as well as seeing one.[1]
