The Denman Island Local Trust Committee referred application DE-RZ-2018.1 to the Advisory Planning Commission for review when it is able to meet electronically or in person. The review will consider whether the proposed water supply, daily-use water budget, stored water and backup supply are sufficient. ^[1]

Planner Marnie Eggen said staff recommended deferring advancement of the application to a Community Information Meeting or further readings until the applicant secured a water licence for a surface or groundwater supply to supplement the proposed rainwater collection system. ^[1]

The committee also asked the Executive Committee to indicate whether the applicant’s proposed change to the backup water supply affects advice previously given about rainwater harvesting and the Trust Policy Statement. ^[1]

The committee heard that the Ministry of Health’s guidance document on treating rainwater for potable purposes was anticipated in spring 2020, but that the timing of its release was unknown. ^[1]
