A letter to Denman Islanders from Plastic Free Denman describes a distanced committee meeting held outdoors during the easing of pandemic isolation measures. The letter says members discussed the return of single-use plastics and shared changes and actions they had noticed.[1]
The letter thanks island businesses for efforts to serve residents and describes members’ experiences with local food initiatives, gardening and shopping locally. It says members were using soap and warm water instead of disposable wipes and washing and reusing Ziploc bags.[1]
The letter also says members were getting involved in Denman food initiatives including Plan B(Bean) and SPUDS, and maintaining their commitment to climate action during the pandemic.[1]
