A Denman Works article in the Aug. 6 Islands Grapevine urged residents to shop locally, describing phone and email orders at the General Store, lineups outside the Hardware Store and bulk buying at the Earth Club Factory.[1]
The article said these practices reduced the need for off-island trips and supported local jobs and income. It also suggested placing orders with island businesses and shopping on Denman before travelling to town.[1]
The contribution identified itself as part of a Denman Works initiative to support a resilient local economy.[1]
