A Grapevine piece by Peter Spurr reported that the Comox Valley Regional District’s Electoral Areas Services Committee decided on August 10 that staff would work with HICEEC and partners toward the potential establishment of high-speed broadband infrastructure to Denman and Hornby. [1]
The article also described a communications installation under construction beside the seafood shop at the Buckley Bay ferry terminal. Spurr wrote that Freedom Mobile intended it to serve Baynes Sound, particularly Denman’s west coast, with cellular and high-speed internet service; the start-up date was not known. [1]
The piece said Starlink was seeking CRTC approval and described its service as a prospect, not an available service. [1]
