Norman Grieder, who worked as a deckhand on the Denman ferry, died on August 31, according to a family notice in The Islands Grapevine.[1]
The notice said Grieder also worked as a mail carrier, in a plywood mill and in the oyster business, and attended culinary school in Nanaimo.[1]
It said he was born in Port Alberni and is survived by his wife, stepchildren, siblings, nieces and nephews.[1]
