The Denman Island Local Trust Committee gives first reading to proposed housing agreement, official community plan and land-use bylaws for the Denman Community Land Trust Association application. The committee discusses a proposed data logger and access to well information. The applicant says the association wants to monitor well-water level and electro-conductivity weekly once the well is in use and share the data with the Islands Trust. [1]
At town hall, Simon Palmer provides an update on the Denman Green project, saying meetings have been held with Island Health staff and written support has been received for the source water. Tony Aly, who publishes this paper, is involved with Camp Denman, also known as Elkhaven and Elk Haven, and has a personal interest in land-use and bylaw-enforcement matters affecting that site. [1] The committee says it is willing to hold a special meeting once Island Health water-source approval has been submitted for review. [1]
