The Denman Housing Association was working to resolve issues related to Island Health’s water-sufficiency requirements for the proposed Denman Green project, according to minutes of the Denman Local Trust Committee’s Nov. 3 meeting.[1]

At that meeting, Simon Palmer told trustees that the association had met with Island Health staff and received written support for the water source. He asked the committee to advance the rezoning application and schedule community consultation before its next meeting, citing financing deadlines.[1]

The minutes say trustees were willing to hold a special meeting if appropriate after Island Health water-source approval was submitted for review.[1]

In a separate report, the Grapevine’s DIRA Wildlife Advisory Committee account said the Denman Green project was among the island’s affordable-housing topics, but it did not provide a project update.[2]
