A Denman Island Local Trust Committee town hall on January 19 included a member of the public’s objection to evictions of occupants in non-compliant housing following bylaw enforcement, including the speaker and her daughter. [1]
The speaker said she had tried to help the committee create bylaws to improve the situation and asked what local trustees would do to protect renters from eviction. [1]
A trustee said he did not know the details of the evictions described, noted that the committee had taken actions to support affordable housing, and said he supported following bylaws in general. [1]
