The Denman Island Local Trust Committee gave second and third readings to bylaws for the Pepper Lane affordable housing project, then forwarded them for further approvals; the committee also directed staff to work on changes to related agreements.[1]
The committee amended proposed Land Use Bylaw No. 234 to increase the maximum floor area for a seniors affordable dwelling unit from 60m² to 65m², and to replace a plan. It then gave the bylaw second and third readings and forwarded it for approval by the Islands Trust Executive Committee.[1]
Trustees also asked staff to work with the applicant on alternative wording for parts of the restrictive covenant, including provisions about fencing and vegetation buffers, and to suggest ways to reduce or eliminate the expense of an annual professional analysis of water data.[1]
The committee asked staff to bring back a draft change to the housing agreement’s definition of qualified occupants, and to work with the applicant on wording allowing changes to the tenant selection procedure.[1]
The minutes record that the committee gave second and third readings to Official Community Plan Bylaw No. 233 and forwarded it for approval by the Islands Trust Executive Committee and the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing.[1]
