Women from Denman Island dropped a banner at the BC Ferries West terminal reading “#WomenDemand Guaranteed Livable Income.”[1]
The report said the action was part of a province-wide campaign led by the BC Women’s Alliance, with banners also dropped in Vancouver, Kelowna, Victoria and Nanaimo.[1]
The report quoted Denman resident and participant Suzette Cullen saying the pandemic had shown government could support people in need, and that the group wanted that support to continue.[1]
